Memur-Sen to attend the 12th National Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC)
19.02.19, Tuesday
Led by its Vice President, Haci Bayram TONBUL, a Memur-Sen delegation travelled to Abuja, Nigeria, from February 3 to 7, to take part in the work of the 12th National Conference of Delegates of the NLC (Nigeria Labour Congress).
The NLC is campaigning against austerity, raising the minimum wage, low wages, job cuts and increased poverty, which affects, as we know, the whole economy.
As labour movements, it is in our common interest to elaborate sustainable approaches in order to promote jobs, growth and social justice by creating well-designed social policies.
Because it is simply not realistic to expect sustainable economic development if measures are not taken to combat youth unemployment and poverty that drive so many talents and young people to emigrate or to consider emigration, we would like to take this opportunity to express our solidarity with the NLC, which has been diligently advocating for the removal of all obstacles in the development of Nigeria.
As trade unionists, it is in our common interest to develop sustainable approaches to promoting jobs, growth and social justice by actively participating in the development of well-designed social policies.
Furthermore, the Memur-Sen delegation expresses its sincere thanks to the team in charge of the organization for the quality of the reception and the extreme attention it has shown.
