Today it is time of Al-Quds, Today is a Day of Resistance
11.03.24, Monday
Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın attended the “Resurrection Meetings” program organized by the Palestine Support Platform in Elazığ.
Addressing the Al-Quds enthusiasts filling the hall during the program, President Yalçın stated that the most barbaric and vile genocide of the past century is taking place, saying, “More than 30,000 of our brothers, sisters, children, mothers, and babies have lost their lives under bombs. Hospitals, ambulances, schools, mosques, marketplaces, and aid queues are being targeted. Hunger, poverty, phosphorus bombs, torture... Every kind of inhumanity is experienced in Gaza. 300,000 homes were destroyed. There's no water, no bread, no medicine, no hospitals, no safe spaces. Children, mothers, and the elderly are being massacred in bread queues. “We are in pain, anger, and agony”.
“Since the occupation, there has only been pain and tears.”
Yalçın, stating that Gaza has become a test for humanity, “If American soldiers are setting themselves on fire in support of Gaza, if millions are protesting in Western countries to stop the massacre, if a global wave of boycott is spreading, and if the heart of humanity beats for Gaza, but on the other hand, there is a deathly silence, a deathly slumber in Islamic countries, then we must contemplate deeply. Our brothers and sisters are not only being killed by bombs but also by this silence of death. Breaking this silence is our obligation."
Yalçın emphasized that the genocide has been ongoing for 151 days, underscoring that before Israel, there was the justice of Omar, the humanity of Saladin, and the service of the Ottoman Empire in Palestine. He reminded that since the British occupation in 1917, there has been nothing left but pain and tears.
