Hundreds of Thousands Rally Across Turkey in Solidarity with Gaza
13.10.25, Monday
Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets across Turkey to be the voice of Gaza, to support the Freedom Flotillas, and to uphold human dignity. Under the slogan “Free Palestine from the river to the sea,” citizens gathered in massive numbers in all 81 provinces, with the largest rallies held in Istanbul and Ankara as part of the “Gaza Determination March.”
The demonstrations were organized under the leadership of the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform (ANFIDAP)—of which Memur-Sen is a founding member—and supported by numerous civil society organizations. The Ankara rally was attended by Ali Yalçın, President of the Memur-Sen Confederation, together with representatives from various institutions and organizations.
The march began at Melike Hatun Mosque and brought together a diverse crowd of journalists, lawyers, academics, healthcare professionals, artists, football fans, people with disabilities, mothers with children and babies, and members of different professional groups. Participants marched to July 15 Kızılay National Will Square, where tens of thousands raised their voices to condemn Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, and to draw attention to the continuing humanitarian catastrophe in Palestine.
During the rallies, videos recorded by activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla, which aims to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza, were shown on large screens across the country, amplifying the message of solidarity and resistance.
