ILC Executive Board Meeting Convenes

The Executive Board of the International Labour Confederation (ILC), of which Memur-Sen is a member, convened its meeting online. The meeting was attended by Ali Yalçın, President of Memur-Sen and ILC, and Hamza Öksüz, Vice President of Memur-Sen and ILC Secretary-General.
During the meeting, which focused on the activities of member confederations and the global labor movement, Ali Yalçın highlighted the responsibilities of the labor movement amid global conflicts. Stressing the importance of international solidarity, Yalçın noted:
“We view the ILC as a key platform for the labour movement to stand united in the face of global challenges.”
In addition to global developments, regional issues were also discussed, including tensions between Iran and Israel, border conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand, protests in Indonesia, and the lifting of the blockade in Gaza. Representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Thailand, Portugal, and Indonesia shared insights on social dialogue, economic challenges, and trade union activities in their respective countries.
ILC Secretary-General Hamza Öksüz provided an update on the confederation’s annual activities. Öksüz stated:
“Every step taken by the ILC will be guided by the collective wisdom of our member confederations and the decisions of the Executive Board.”
He outlined the roadmap for upcoming international programs, regional meetings, and training initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation that the ILC will continue to amplify the voice of workers across the globe. Participants expressed a shared commitment to strengthening the trade union movement in line with the principles of rights, justice, and solidarity.
