Solidarity Rally for Palestine in Front of the ILO in Geneva
08.06.25, Sunday
Zionist Israel, which continues to implement genocidal policies against the people of Gaza, was protested in Geneva by representatives of labour organizations.
Within the framework of the 113th International Labour Conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO), trade unions and labour organizations gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, and held a solidarity rally for Palestine in front of the iconic “Broken Chair” monument near the United Nations headquarters, following a call by HAK-İŞ.
The rally was attended by Türkiye’s Minister of Labour and Social Security, Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan, Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın, and Vice President Hamza Öksüz, along with numerous representatives of international labour movements. Messages of solidarity with the Palestinian people were delivered throughout the gathering.
In the joint press statement, Israel’s attacks—blatantly violating international law and fundamental human rights—were strongly condemned. The statement called for an immediate end to the ongoing civilian massacres in Gaza.
The protest, which brought together labour organizations from various countries and political backgrounds, highlighted a powerful sense of unity in the defense of human dignity. Banners carried during the event drew attention to the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza, while participants demanded peace, justice, and freedom.
