25.08.21, Wednesday
The collective bargaining for the years 2022-2023, whose primary objective was to respond to the crisis in the purchasing power of public employees, has ended with an agreement between Memur-Sen and the public employer. In addition to the inflation gap, this collective agreement provides for a salary increase of 5% + 7% for the year 2022, and 8% + 6% for the year 2023.
In addition, regarding the various elements of remuneration requested by Memur-Sen, Ali Yalçin, President of Memur-Sen, congratulated the parties for their work and efforts to conciliate opposing points of view. Through this agreement, which will come into effect on 01/01/2022, the lowest salary of a unionized public employee will increase by 37% (not including the inflation gap) over the upcoming two years. "I welcome the good progress made by the parties, which is essential for the success of the process," said Ali Yalçın.
Stressing that collective bargaining is one of the pillars of democracy, Yalçın said, "I also want to commend the efforts made by all the collaborators present at the negotiating table, who tried to ease tensions, conciliate divergent views; and use empirical evidence," he said.
