International Day of People with Disabilities
03.12.20, Thursday
On the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities celebrated annually on December 3 across the world, the Committee of Workers with Disabilities of the Memur-Sen Confederation made the following statement: “We aim to develop studies, proposals, demands and objections to guarantee equality and build justice for people with disabilities”.
In its statement the Committee on Workers with Disabilities underlined the importance of empowering people with disabilities for inclusive, equitable and sustainable development as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Declaration of the Committee of Workers with Disabilities:
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”. Every human being must have equal working conditions; receive a salary that meets the needs of the day, allows them to live humanly, to achieve their goals for the future, to have the right to social security, collective bargaining and the right to organize without prohibitions. The state and individuals need to fulfill their civil responsibilities. In this sense, the public authorities should strengthen the participation of civil society organizations in work likely to facilitate the integration of people with disabilities into public life. We aim to develop studies, proposals, demands and objections to guarantee equality and build justice for people with disabilities.
Starting from the principle "together to overcome all obstacles", the Memur-Sen confederation has always defended the values and respect for people with disabilities. Many acquisitions have been made by the Memur-Sen confederation in both the public and private sectors.
