Memur-Sen Delegation meets with the Standing European Parliament Rapporteur on Turkey Nacho Sánchez Amor. The rapporteur organised a round table meeting with all three public servants trade union confederations and other three workers’ trade union confederations. During the meeting, Memur-Sen’s Vice-President Mehmet Emin ESEN expressed Memur-Sen’s views on "the situation of trade unions and trade union rights in Turkey and on the current state of #EU-#Turkey Relations.
Esen recalled that public servants trade unionism in Turkey seems to be in important position in the world. There are more than a hundred public servants trade unions in Turkey. These unions move freely and membership activities of these unions are also same, noted that the resignation is also free. Esen said, however, that some problems are still going on. Drawing attention to the issue of "strikes and ban on politics" for public servants, he stated that it is essential to make arrangements at these points to be able to move forward.
