18.06.25, Wednesday
Hamza Öksüz, Vice President of Memur-Sen and Secretary General of the International Labour Confederation (ILC), participated in the Annual Forum of the Global Coalition for Social Justice, held in Geneva, the capital of Switzerland.
The forum, organized with the aim of revitalizing the ILO 2030 Agenda—which envisions building social justice on a global scale but has faced setbacks due to the pandemic and ongoing economic crises—provided a platform for consultations on how inclusive growth and sustainable development can be achieved through a labour-centered approach.
The event featured presentations on key themes such as living wages, fair livelihoods, business models, the human rights economy, and social dialogue. Participants included government officials, trade union confederations, civil society representatives, and academics from various regions of the world.
Speaking at the forum, ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo emphasized that the goal of the Global Coalition for Social Justice and the Social Justice Forum is to transform this collaborative approach into tangible action that benefits people.
