Labour Organizations are Responsible for Establishing Peace and Freedom
Memur-Sen Delegation led by its President Mr. Ali YALÇIN headed to Algeria on 26th September to attend the 41st Session of Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) General Council.
On the occasion of 41st Session of Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) Memur-Sen Delegation led by its President Mr. Ali YALÇIN headed to Algeria on 25th-26th September Algiers, Algeria. Speaking at the session, YALÇIN highlighted that labour organizations and leaders of the labour organizations, are not only obliged to take share from the economy. Labour organizations are also responsible for contributing to peace, prosperity, development and justice, and ensuring the security of the individual and society.
The 41st Session of Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) General Council was held in Algeria with the theme of International Trade Union Symposium on “Peace and Security, Role of Trade Unions and Tripartism” in Algiers- Algeria- on Tuesday 26th September 2018. Labour organization representatives, academics, politicians and experts from many countries attended the session.
Addressing the participant, Yalçın called for building consensus among labour organizations.
“It is impossible to talk about high wages if there is no peace and no value for comprehensive social security and safety. At this point, we, as unions, federations and regional and international labour organizations, must give a very clear message to capitalist and trans-border finance systems. If peace is not comprehensive, security is not provided in the world, justice does not include all humanity, and prosperity only crystallizes at the level of a continent or a country, human development is a "right" for some and a "lack" of others, it is useless to be strong, empowered and renewed in our countries. Efforts in the struggle for action and justice must be universal, such as human dignity.” said Yalçın.
In his address, Yalçın also highlighted that labour organizations must unite their strength in our countries, regions, continents and throughout the world. “As labour organizations, we must first agree with ourselves that we truly believe that our goal is to contribute to world peace.” said Yalçın.
