President Erdoğan Receives ILC Delegation

The delegation of the International Labor Confederation, which was established with the signature of 30 confederations from 23 countries from the Eurasian region in order to represent 25 million workers hosted by Memur-Sen, was received by President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. At the reception, the importance of the international representation of the labour community was emphasized.

“I believe that a just world will be established with labour”

Speaking at the reception, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the slogan "The world is bigger than five" and pointed out that the disruption in the current structure of the United Nations was once again seen with the Ukraine war. Expressing that the whole world has seen Turkey's struggle for the rights of the oppressed and workers from past to present, Erdoğan said that in this context, they care about and support the mentality of the labour organization established under the hosting of Memur-Sen.

Bilgin: We need solidarity and social dialogue

Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, pointed out that the International Labor Confederation is a well-studied and well-analyzed organization, emphasizing that this organizational model is an organizational model that can be a solution to the crisis experienced by the world system and that they support this model.

Stating that the International Labour Confederation initiated by Memur-Sen will bring a new vision to the labour world, the organization will give motivation to the labour world, adding, "Labor and solidarity are our basic concepts today. We need labor, solidarity, social dialogue and social struggle."

Yalçın: We are proud and excited

Speaking at the reception, Ali Yalçın, President of Memur-Sen, stated that the representation of 25 million workers in the Eurasian region will be strengthened with the established confederation, and expressed that they, as Memur-Sen, are proud and excited to host such a large-scale organization in the international context. In the meeting, the importance of the concept of labour was emphasized; Emphasizing that the problems in the trade union field are similar in the international framework, it was emphasized that this great step taken for the protection of labour and workers will continue to grow and develop around the world.

Yalçın drew attention to the negativities of the world's income inequality and the cultural climate based on consumption, and said that the International Labour Confederation will defend the rights of labour and workers to the end and with the determination and struggle put their finger on this wound that has been bleeding for years.

At the acceptance ceremony; Memur-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın and ILC Secretary General Mehmet Emin Esen presented a gift to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

At the call of Memur-Sen, the International Labor Confederation (ILC) was established with the participation of 30 confederations from 23 countries. On the other hand, 43 confederations and 4 regional labor organizations from 33 countries attended the International Labor and Solidarity Congress held to declare the establishment.
