Memur-Sen marked the third anniversary of the July 15 failed coup attempt

Memur-Sen organized a demonstration march to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which was shelled by rockets on the night of the failed military coup on 15 July 2016.
Memur-Sen to mark the third anniversary of the July 15, 2016 foiled coup attempt commemorated Monday the fallen heroes who died while protecting democracy against the coup plotters and celebrated July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. On this occasion, Memur-Sen organized a demonstration march to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which was shelled by rockets on the night of the failed military coup on 15 July 2016.
“The military coup carried out by the FETÖ terrorist organization and a small military juntaas attempted to conquer the people of the nation, however with all their courage and sacrifice, people of Turkey saved their homeland from this occupation attempt and by doing so they are perpetuating a heroic epic on the pages of history.” Memur-Sen’s President Yalçın said Monday on the third anniversary of the July 15 failed coup attempt.
The unarmed civilians, who took to the streets and the squares to confront the coup attempt, were attacked by traitors who were equipped by planes, helicopters and tanks and caused loss of lives of 250 martyrs and more than 2,000 wounded. "Memur-Sen Confederation was the first to come into the fields with its supporters and the first to call everyone to take to the streets to counter this coup," Yalçın said.Yalçın ended his press statement by praying for mercy and forgiveness for the martyrs who fell during confrontations to counter the coup.
