“Institutional Capacity Building and Digital Transformation” Certification Program
13.01.25, Monday
The International Labor Confederation (ILC), in collaboration with the Center for Labour and Social Security Training and Research (ÇASGEM), is organized a three-day intensive training program in Ankara on Institutional Capacity Building and Digital Transformation. This program brought together 28 trade unionists from 19 countries to strengthen organizational capabilities in an increasingly digitalized world.
In his opening address, President Yalçın highlighted the pressing challenges of today’s world, such as social inequality, global crises, and wars.
“Crises and wars threaten not only human lives but also the fundamental values of humanity. International organizations established to defend human rights, international law, and norms are unfortunately proving inadequate in addressing these issues. Even worse, they are becoming part of the problem. In such a complex period, organizations like the ILC must play a critical role in advocating for social justice, labor rights, and human rights.
ILC has embraced the principle that “Labour is a universal value, and a just world can only be built through labour”. However, we must acknowledge that we are still at the beginning of this journey, and we need to work diligently together.
Yalçın: We Are Taking a Significant Step Forward
Ali Yalçın emphasized that with the rapid advancement of technology, the world is undergoing a swift transformation. He stated that building a just world requires the establishment of institutional structures supported by transparent, participatory, and digital solutions.
President Yalçın underscored that the program aligns precisely with this objective. “When these two concepts come together, organizations become more resilient, flexible, and prepared for the future. Particularly in the digital age, the harmony between technology and capacity development not only allows organizations to adapt to technological innovations but also enables them to lead change. Effectively managing these processes will contribute to the success of employees and stakeholders.”
Gökçearslan, noting that ÇASGEM has cooperation protocols with numerous confederations and unions, concluded her speech with the following “I would like to emphasize that we remain open to all forms of cooperation.”
At the conclusion of the three-day program, participants were awarded certificates.
