Mothers rise up against infanticide in Palestine
13.11.23, Monday
The Status of Women Committee of the Memur-Sen Confederation organised a rally in Diyarbakır with the participation of hundreds of women to put an end to the human tragedy in Palestine and to protest against the massacres of children in the region. At the demonstration, Sıdıka Aydın said, "Babies are not born free in the occupied Gaza Strip".
Memur-Sen, which has played an active role both in the bureaucratic field and in public squares against the injustice, pain and oppression experienced in the world since the day it was founded, has not remained silent about the massacre in Palestine. With over a million members Memur-Sen, which has expressed its harshest reaction to all the attacks carried out by Zionist Israel in Palestine, recently raised its voice once again with the action led by the Status of Women Commission in Diyarbakır. More than 4,000 women cursed the murderous state of Israel at the rally held in Diyarbakır Dağkapı under the theme "Mothers rise up against infanticide in Palestine". Speaking at the rally, the chairwoman of the Women's Committee, Sıdıka Aydın, stressed that a human tragedy is unfolding before the eyes of the whole world and said, "Babies are not born free in the occupied Gaza Strip, more than 3,000 babies and children have been murdered in 29 days. People breathless under the phosphorus bombs and under the rubble are missing, dead or injured. So many pupils have died that the end of the school year has been announced. No more children can go to school in Gaza. The Zionist murderers are demonstrating a level of brutality never seen before in world wars. Hospitals, schools and temples are bombed; the Palestinian people cannot even reach their dead in one piece. There is no water to wash the dead, no shroud to wrap them in. Lead fills the empty bellies of children, Gaza smells of death, death. The cradles were filled with bullets and the nappies with blood. The wombs of dead mothers were opened and babies with bruises were removed. My God, what an ordeal! To hell with him who sleeps comfortably, closes his door and draws his curtains. "To hell with him who heats his house and cooks with other people's fire", she said.
"Humanity is dying in Gaza
Aydın stressed that oppression in Palestine did not really begin on 7 October and that the bloody map drawn by the Zionist-loving West at Balfour stands today like a dagger in the heart of Al-Quds. Stating that massacres have been perpetrated in the region for over a hundred years, indiscriminately against children, women and the elderly, Aydın said: "The occupation has been wandering around Al-Quds for 75 years. Gaza, where every square metre bears the curse of Muslims and the blood of the oppressed, is under fire again today.
For days now, we have been witnessing terrible brutality live. Gaza has been turned into ruins by violent bombardments. Gaza is disappearing, people, dead people, mutilated babies and children, Gaza is dying. The Palestinian Health Minister issued a press release amidst the blood-covered corpses. "We have more than a thousand people missing under the rubble", she says.
In order to identify them after the bombing, families write their names on their children's arms. It's not just innocent civilians who are dying in Gaza, humanity is dying in Gaza! The Zionists have been teaching their children destruction, murder and hatred for years.
Their training is programmed to produce killers. With spite and resentment, they have sown the seeds of war in their children's brains. "Those who are committing this massacre today are yesterday's children who received this terrible education", she declared.
