The Virtual Meeting on the Effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic in the World of Work

Memur-Sen organized a virtual meeting on the effects of the pandemic in the world of work with the young trade unionists who participated in the first training program on International Trade Unionism and Social Policy.
Ali Yalçin, President of the Memur-Sen Confederation, came together with the young trade unionists who participated in the first training program on International Trade Unionism and Social Policy by video conference. The first part of the video-conference entitled “The Coronavirus pandemic, its impact on workers and the role of unions” took place with the participation of young union representatives from 20 countries.
The meeting which began with the opening speech of the President of Memur-Sen, Ali Yalçın, saw the participation of young trade union representatives of the young trade unionists who participated in the first training program on International Trade Unionism and Social Policy as well as the Vice- President Mehmet Emin Esen and the international relations experts of the Memur-Sen Confederation. President Ali Yalçın stressed the importance of youth engagement in the trade union movement: “The changes brought about by the pandemic will also affect trade union life. Therefore, a new union conception with a multidimensional perspective becomes indispensable. It is the young people who will do it in the most expressed and defined way, ”he said.
The meeting which took place in a friendly atmosphere from start to finish was very enriching in terms of sharing experience.
