42nd Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) Meeting Held in Nevşehir

The 42nd Meeting of the Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), in which Memur-Sen is also a member, was held in Nevşehir from October 9 to 11, 2024.
The two-day meeting, hosted by the Nevşehir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was attended by Ali Yalçın, President of Memur-Sen; Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey; Bendevi Palandöken, President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen; Şemsi Bayraktar, President of the Union of Turkish Agricultural Chambers; Mahmut Arslan, President of Hak-İş; Önder Kahveci, President of Turkey Kamu-Sen; as well as Ambassador Thomas Hans Ossowski, Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey; Dimitris Dimitriadis, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC); and other members of the EESC from the European side.
"This meeting is Very Important in Developing Cooperation"
Speaking at the meeting, where Turkey-EU relations were evaluated, President Yalçın stated, “I believe this meeting is highly significant for long-term cooperation and for producing common solutions to shared problems. Every step taken to strengthen the social dialogue mechanism is also valuable for social welfare. I hope that the decisions on economic and social matters made during the Turkey-EU Joint Consultative Committee meeting, of which Memur-Sen is a component, will lead to positive outcomes.”
The 42nd meeting of the JCC, a significant platform for strengthening dialogue between the European Union and Turkey and for civil society to play a more active role, concluded after sessions held on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Skills, Entrepreneurship for People with Disabilities, and Agriculture.
As a result of the meeting, a 37-point declaration was issued, covering topics such as Civil Protection, Migration, Social Issues, Entrepreneurship for People with Disabilities, Digital Skills, and Agriculture. It was also decided that the next meeting will be held in Brussels in 2025.
