37th meeting of the EU-Turkey Joint Consultative Committee was held in Adana, with the participation of Ali YALÇIN, President of Memur-Sen Confederation Yalçın said: “We are looking for an inclusive attitude for everyone from the EU”
JCC brought together civil society, labour & business world to discuss topics on Turkey-EU common agenda. The many topics were discussed at this JCC meeting: the EU-Turkey relations, the role of Turkey in the refugee crisis, the modernisation of the EU-Turkey Customs Union, Trade and sustainable development, the Blue Economy in the Western Mediterranean.Ali Yalçın participated in the 37th meeting of the EU-Turkey Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) and delivered his speech at “the Trade Union Rights in the public sector” session. President Yalçın, who made statements regarding the session, said: “The trade unions in the EU countries and the top international trade union organizations in the EU geography, should give support to the process of moving forward to further work in the field of public servants trade unionism in Turkey. While doing this, we are looking for an inclusive attitude for everyone from the EU”. Yalçın also pointed out the importance of right of strike. “It is necessary for public officials to initiate a comprehensive dialogue on the right to strike before it is too late” said Yalçın.
