The meeting held at Memur-Sen headquarters was attended by Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın, Kültür Memur-Sen President Mecit Erdoğan, Kültür Memur-Sen board members, leaders of Memur-Sen affiliated unions and many guests.
In his opening remarks, Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın made a point of expressing his gratitude to thank the contributions of trade unionists to fully protect and promote workers' rights.
Yalçın said, "having a common vision and translating this vision into concrete measures is not given to everyone and sums up Memur-Sen's 26 years of struggle formidably well," he said.
Speaking at the 18th expanded meeting of the Kültür Memur-Sen executive committee, Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın said, "It is necessary to act together to protect the rights of civil servants at the collective bargaining table."
Stressing that the union law and public service labor relations need to be modernized, it is legitimate to reiterate that more emphasis should be placed on collaboration in order to eliminate the elements of inefficiency in the collective bargaining process," he said.
Recalling that the late Mehmet Akif Inan was a man of culture, Kültür Memur-Sen President Mecit Erdogan added: "I would like to thank your tireless efforts that have enabled Kültür Memur-Sen to rise to the level of the most representative trade union in the culture and art sector, which have enabled us to put our approach into practice so effectively," he said.
