The "COVID-19" pandemic has caused great damage to the world of work
In his speech, Yalçın said "This historic day unfortunately passes in the context of a global health crisis, and it is the coronavirus pandemic that invaded about 199 countries and infected more than 3 million and claimed the lives of nearly 250 thousand. On this occasion, in the name of the trade union movement in Turkey, I pay tribute and bless the workers who are fighting on the front lines to fight this pandemic, and I call upon the Allah to have mercy on those who lost their lives during the struggle and to heal the injured. "
The existing world order demonstrated its reality again
In his speech, Yalçın emphasized the seriousness of the global system based on trade union movements in the period of this pandemic, when he said: "Once again this crisis has revealed the truth of the neoliberal system based on exploitation, occupation, conflicts and weakening workers' movements all over the world. It has shown that inequalities are constantly increasing between the rich and the poor. This crisis also revealed the capabilities of countries to confront and contain crises, and also showed serious gaps in social protection systems. Unfortunately, the world of work took the largest share of the damage caused by this pandemic, as it caused great disturbances in the world of work.
