Yalçın Attended OATUU’s Meeting on Palestine Theme

Ali Yalçın, the President of Memur-Sen, participated the online meeting organized by the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) on the theme of Palestine and Gaza. Speaking at the event, Ali Yalçın stated, “Our support will continue for Palestine and all oppressed regions.”
During the meeting, opening addresses were delivered by OATUU Secretary General Arezki Mezhoud and President Francis Atwoli. Representatives from labor organizations spanning Russia, China, Portugal, and Palestine, alongside Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın.
President Yalçın, in his speech, underscored the heartbreaking human drama caused by Zionist Israel in Palestine since October 7, with over 35,000 lives lost, including women and children, and 77,000 individuals wounded. He emphasized the perpetual presence of this tragedy on their agenda and highlighted their recent event hosting Ahmad Shaban Fawzi, President of the Al-Quds Branch of the Palestinian Trade Unions Confederation, on May 1st. Yalçın affirmed their steadfast support until the cessation of oppression in Gaza, in collaboration with their social partners.
Yalçın further advocated for sustained humanitarian aid efforts to mitigate the ongoing crisis in the region. He emphasized the value of convening meetings on such pressing matters to convey a message of unity and support.
