Visit from Memur-Sen to Bangladesh Sanjukta Sramik Federation (BSSF)

Ramazan Çakırcı, Vice President of Memur-Sen, attended a regional conference in Bangladesh as an invited guest of the BSSF. During the visit, he held various meetings and discussions.
On the first day, a general conference was held with participants from different countries, union members, political figures, NGOs, and student representatives. Speaking at the event, Çakırcı emphasized the importance of expanding union rights and removing barriers to organizing. Highlighting historical ties between the two nations, he stressed the value of solidarity in addressing common labor issues.
During the conference, the Rohingya refugee crisis and its economic and social impact on Bangladesh were also discussed. BSSF General Secretary Jahangir Alam Chowdhury expressed gratitude for Turkey’s support, particularly from Memur-Sen.
On the second day, Çakırcı attended an expanded board meeting of BSSF, focusing on workers’ issues in Bangladesh. He encouraged strengthening union rights in constitutional reforms and shared Memur-Sen’s experiences in overcoming challenges through solidarity and collective efforts.
BSSF President Tofazzal Hussain Bagu praised Memur-Sen’s impact and expressed a desire to deepen bilateral cooperation and benefit from their expertise in union development.
