The government must reconsider its copy, its counter offer of 5+6% for 2022 and 6+6% for 2023 is too far from the expected.

Speaking at the meeting held on August 12 at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Minister Vedat Bilgin said the government's counter offer of 5%+6% for 2022 and 6%+6% for 2023, this proposal must be improved, the government must review its copy.
The government has deliberately failed to address Memur-Sen's demands for a 21% increase for 2022 and 17% for 2023, and has also failed to address Memur-Sen's demand for a compensatory increase of 600 TL/month for losses incurred during the period of the previous collective agreements, as well as Memur-Sen's demand for a 6% increase to promote the social welfare of public employees.
Regarding the increase in the indexed rates of retirement pensions demanded by Memur-Sen, stating that a study was underway, the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Bilgin, also said that a study to improve the rights of public employees under contract will be made public later, stating in this regard that the measures in question should produce satisfaction with the interested parties.
"The figures presented by the government are very inadequate”
On the sidelines of the consultations, criticizing the inadequacy of the counter-offer presented by the public employer, Ali Yalçın said he was concerned and disconcerted by the unrealism and inconsistency of the government's proposals, "Unproductive, as it stands, the government's counter-offer is very far from fulfilling the expectations and demands of public employees, which is why we decided to urgently convene the holding of an enlarged Council of Memur-Sen's leaders with the aim of urging the government to revise its copy. "He said.
In addition, regarding the statements of the Minister, the latter unfortunately contains too much shadow, especially with regard to the situation of public employees under contract on the one hand and the demands for the increase of 6%, required as part of the social welfare of public employees, on the other hand, "he said.
"The proposal of the public employer is very far from the economic realities"
Asserting that the public employer should prepare a new offer to unblock the negotiation, Ali Yalçın, chairman of Memur-Sen, said, "In this context, we decided to organize the fightback with the holding of an Expanded Council of Trade Union Leaders with a view to determining the course of action to take in the next stages of the negotiation.
The decisions taken by the Enlarged Council of Memur-Sen Presidents are as follows
1- The proposal submitted by the public employer falls far short of the legitimate expectations of public employees. Memur-Sen demands that the public employer revise its proposal as soon as possible.
2- The public employer must demonstrate its willingness to reach a viable consensus before August 22, the deadline for collective bargaining.
3- The public employer must:
a) Review its proposal and propose better percentages for salary increases
b) Clarify its proposal regarding the increase in indexed pension rates
c) Provide details regarding the improvement of the rights of public servants under contract
d) Clearly respond to our demands in terms of family allowances, vacation bonuses, supplementary pay and allowances
4. Commit and prove its commitment to the collective bargaining process, which should be seen as useful, fair and effective, in accordance with the objective of social welfare.
Memur-Sen has invited trade union leaders from all 81 provinces of Turkey to come to Ankara on August 14 to discuss the way forward in order to obtain a fairer offer from the government.
